So to get the shed base ready after we've put the scalpings in, we start off as you can
0:16
on your left hand side with one bearer which will form the edge of the base for the shed
0:24
the shed's going right up against that fence, and then using the mortar bed that you'll
0:29
see in a moment, we level one timber on its damper of course all the way through. Having leveled that
0:36
timber we can then use a spirit level, use some pins and a line, if you look at our video on
0:44
using a line and line pins you'll see how we use that, but we can transfer that level all the way
0:51
across the shed base putting pins in at this end and of course the far end stringing a line between
0:58
it and you'll see looking along this line if the camera can pick that up you can see that we are
1:05
on this line all the way through So that how we use a line and a level from a starting point or our datum here all the way through So from this corner we leveled everything through and everything across and we have a perfectly leveled base to sit our sterling board or ply
1:24
or whatever else it is that we're going to use as a shed base on top of that. So using a line
1:29
and a level to get your shed base free, the rest you'll see in just a moment
1:34
If any of your bearer timbers are bowed, as they very often are from merchants these days
1:41
just get a straight edge, find a piece of timber that is straight, put it across the
1:45
ones that are bowed and weigh it down with some blocks or other weighty objects
1:49
One insulated floor, you can see the way we've done it to make sure that the shed sits all
2:01
all the way around on the outside this is the inside and then the floor panels sit on top of
2:08
the insulation just like that. Next time we come back you'll see the floor and the walls going up
